Former Judge, Court of Appeals of Maryland

Issue: Did an applicant whose history of criminal, fraudulent misconduct preceded and then continued even after his enrollment in law school merit admission to the Bar of Maryland?

Admitted?: No.

Area of Concern: Despite the fact that this applicant was elected as president of his student bar association and held in high esteem by his professors, he repeatedly resorted to criminal activity at various stages of his life.  This aroused the Court's concern that such misconduct may continue into his practice if admitted to the bar.
